ERP software systems comprise a variety of different software modules, some core and some that can be peripheral to the system implementation process. When putting together an RFQ / RFI / ITT it is important that you have clearly decided what ERP software functionality is a 'must have' for your business and what ERP software processes will fall into the 'would be nice' category. Some of the most common ERP software system modules are given in the list below - to view more details about a specific ERP software module and the ERP business processes that it contains just click the relevant ERP module link.
Other enterprise resource planning system / ERP software system modules include CRM (customer relationship management i.e. GoldMine), Product Configurator, Quoting and Estimating, Acocunts, General Ledger, Payroll, HRM (human resource management), EDI and so on. Your ERP software package should be able to cover as many or as few of your business processes as you wish to include. Many ERP software packages allow you to create customized reports via a reporting / querying tool such as Crystal Reports to help ensure that the ERP system gives you the information you as a manager need in order to make decisions about your business.
